this past saturday, i explored my new town
by hitting up some local garage sales..
well, i explored 3 towns and an army base.

taking only $40 with me,
i was hoping to find some treasure.

now, it started off ugly.
every garage sale was a let down,
a drive by,
a waste of gas and lost time.
but i bit my lip and trudged on.

from 7:30AM until i got home at 5PM,
$20 down and a car full of stuff!
(ok, all $40 but the hubs claimed the other $20)

first off, i got these pretty turquoise placemats
for only one-whoppin'-dollar!
brand new might i add.
see the little candle stick my centerpiece is sitting on?
$1 at another garage sale!

at the same garage sale,

i got this chair for $3!

now, it is missing a support bar,
but thats ok..
it serves it's purpose as decorating my kitchen :)
{and yes that's my table centerpiece and it's only there for prettiness}

at another garage sale i came across this..

which is exactly what i was looking for,

but wasn't looking for.

i knew i wanted a globe or maps

for little mans room,

but had no luck at finding any..

until now.

see, his room is airplane themed

and this makes a perfect addition to it!

also, only $3!

next, i grabbed this little guy.

kinda a sight for sore eye right now,

but we are in the midst of sanding it down

and prepping it for it's new life in the Smith household.

this? just $3!

at our very last garage sale of the day,

we scored this homemade doll bed..

homemade sheets, pillowcase, mattress, and pillow!

all for just $6.

it'll soon get a new coat of paint

and new sheets to match..

but it's being loved as is for now.

and to make it a grand total of $20,

there was a candle warmer for $1

and a some clothes for the little people for just 2 bucks!

looking forward to another saturday

full of garage sales and thrift shops :)

so i have this dresser.

she has a few minor flaws,

but has a ton of potential.

i got this for $10.. which i think is a steal..

it is solid wood and pretty heavy if i do say so myself!

the only problem is...

duh duh duuuuh!

i can't, for the life of me, decide what i want to do to it.

i am falling in love with stripes.. maybe?

1. missing gems.. which is sad! i love the knobs and would love if i could just repaint them, but one is missing. i guess i'm knob shopping next.

2. holes. holes. HOLES. this thing has holes dug all on it, on the sides, drawers, on the top.. which, i think just adds character to it but right now is an eye sore.

3. there is sticky stuff all over it.. and paper stuck to it. all sand-able!

4. it needs an upgrade on the shelf paper! :)

i just love how it's raised off the ground!
i think it adds more character to the dresser.

i'm off to sand it down and hopefully by then,

i'll have a pretty good idea of what i'm gonna do to it.

we spent our holiday splashing in our pool..

while the hubs grilled some steaks up :)

baking up dee-lish-us treats

(that the hubs decorated mind you!)

we had a quick photoshoot.

to which miss thang put an abrupt end to.

we had cupcakes with the cousins.

isn't that face just too cute!?

played some touch football in the yard

with cousins from out of town.

and ended the weekend in Opa's pool :)

i can't tell you how many times i've come to this page
and started to write a sentence..
then just flat out deleted it.

i don't know what to talk about anymore.
i don't know what stuff to "make" anymore.
the want to do it is still there, just not the will..

i guess what i will do is give a brief recap of my life,
or the crazy ride my life has been on the last 5 months.

obviously i've mentioned mitch joined the ARMY.
he is set to graduate from OSUT (one station unit training)
this coming Friday, May 20th!
then he will officially be a combat engineer for the US ARMY!!

i'm over run with excitement and giddiness.
i get my husband back after 4 loong months..
or 106 days, but whose counting? ;)

now i know thats nothing compared to some,
but that was a huge thing for us since we hadn't even
been seperated for a weekend over the past 5 years.
and i already know it will be longer in the near future..
he's already been told when he will "most likely" deploy.
big :(..

i was for sure i'd die of loneliness and anxiety after a week..
but hey hey! look who made it :)
i haven't croaked yet, but i still have 2 DAYS to go haha..

we (*ahem* ME *ahem*) are packing up and preparing
for our impending move end of May / early June..
well, everything is basically packed as of today,
but we still have yet to find a house.
that will be hopefully be done the saturday after he graduates.

i'm soooo SUPER proud of him and his accomplishment.
he made it.. he made his dream come true.

words can't even describe the emotions i'm feeling right now :)

what about me and the little people?
weeeeell.... i quit my job as of April 29th,
i needed the first 2 weeks in May to really
crack down on all the packing and cleaning.
i have to say, i'm pretty proud of myself.
i've never been a packer, that was mitch's
thing, but yet i did it :).. all by my lonesome!

the kids are getting big.. little man will be *3*
on May 21st ( yes the day AFTER mitch's
graduation! ), he is getting to be rotten and a
sneak.. he thinks if he can hide it behind his back,
then he doesn't have it haha.. rotten little stinker! leiton is getting a temper on
her. like to the point where i'm a tad worried.. she is also getting into this fighting
mode, i'm thinking karate might be her thing, although she LOVES to dance too..
she is deeply in love with the Biebs ( Justin Beiber ).. plus i think she is going deaf,
since she doesn't hear a word i say ;)..

i guess that is about it really.. i will definitely share
the reunion videos and stuff like that :) .. i'll probably be
bawlin' in them, but who cares, right!?

so i've been seriously sitting here,
staring at this screen forever now.
i don't know where to begin and yet..
i have soo much to tell.

this past month has been super hard.
i not only had to learn to be a single parent,
but also be a single parent and work 40hrs a week..
oh and be a maid.
and the repair (wo)man.
and the designated gas pumper..
still not happy with that job though!

thats no easy task let me tell ya!
i'm not complaining, don't take this the wrong way now,
but when you're are used to having a tag team partner..
well.. life goes way easier.

obviously, i only have 2 more months of this.
it could be a lot worse.. and it will be further down this path.
i'm ready for that challenge though..
that's part of being an army wife.

life update #1:

the kiddos are doing awesome.

brays been fully potty trained for the past 2 months now.
no accidents what. so. ever!
he's hitting the terrible 2's now though..
i'm guessing some of it has to do with daddy being gone,
but he thinks he has to get into everything
and screams, kick, hit when he doesn't get to.
we spend countless hours in the time-out corner during the week.
he's also earned his badge in hidding skills.
it's a wonder sometimes he can find the stuff he hides!

leiton is a still her goofy self.
i'm signing her up for soccer and gymnastics tomorrow
and she is super duper stinkin' excited!
she's also grown this "crush" thing for the biebs.
justin bieber is her new "best friend" she says.
from the movie, to stickers, to shirts and purses..
she has it all. and she is darn-tootin' proud. of. it!

mitch? well there isn't too much to report.

he's in missouri at basic training and AIT until may.

he is enjoying it so far.. just misses home.

i can't post a now picture of him since he's still in basics

but i likey what i see :)!

i'm still working at the call center.

when i leave i don't want to go back,

but for some reason i always do hahaha.

i'm getting my crafty edge back since i'm planning on

the outfits the kiddos will wear to his graduation

and for our new house, where ever we will go :)

don't give up on me just yet..

i'm coming back, slowly but surely.

in between my 24/7 shifts mentioned above,

i'm going to fit blogging in there somewhere.

trust me.

i'm going tomorrow to get some crafty stuff to work on

and will be posting stuff shortly..

i'm still trying to catch up on blogs and once i do,

i will have a post jam packed with awesome stuff / ideas.

well that was all before my computer decided to do this....

so i've been doing without for a while now

and it's been hard... reaaaally hard.

but then one day this decided to grace my bank account..

and momma turned those tears of dread into tears of joy.

because first thing on my shoppin' list was this baby..

and oh was momma happy!

ok so no one asked for it,
but i figured it would be something interesting.

i'm always curious of what other people have pictures of,
and knowing me and my fascination with odd pictures,
i thought i'd unload on here and share that craptasticness!

first up is..
my autocorrect fail.
pretty self explanatory haha.

next is the notorious..
wienie mobile!
it came into our tiny town
and everyone got a picture..
how do i know?
because i saw it all over facebook for a week.

then theres brayman..

he's officially potty trained!

it's the full shebang..

no more diapers, nothing!

he even sleeps in his "unwears"..

like mayonnaise jar smaaall.

of course i saved the pic and sent it to friends :).

Texas had an ice storm roll through on February 1st..

and so i had to ice skate to work that day.

and since only 30 out of the 400 people showed up,

i got to leave.. but not before getting a quick shot.

thats about 3" snow..

and 2" ice!

thankfully i got the next 2 days off..

no waaay i was risking my life for AT&T!

they don't pay me that good!

i also took a picture on the drive there..

just to show people how bad the visibility was!

and thats all folks!

for now anyways..

and today was the hardest day of my life.

my lover, amigo, partner in crime has left me.

not forever, no, but for four long months..

why you might ask?

the army called..

well in all honesty, the hubs called them.

but you get the point haha..

today i had to put my big girl pants on,

i know this is for the best and will soon be over,

but it's gonna be hard.

i'm not worried about me..

it's the kids i worry more about.

he was they're best friend.

it's gonna be tough, but we're gonna stay busy.

we've got soccer on our agenda,

movie dates with friends and family,

plus plenty of other activities.

but theres my sob story..

i'm off to befriend my kleenex box :(.

blogging obviously equals nonexistant.

i lied. i didn't come back, totally forgot about this thing.
who am i kidding? this time around,
blog was no where in brainland.

i still spend 40 hours a week at my job,
where i take money from people.

this is my view those 8 hrs a day i work..

really not MUCH to look at,

but i get paid to sit there and answer calls..

so i'll take it any day.

but anyways, enough of that..

right before i started work, we did an impromptu

photo shoot at the train tracks out on the backroads of town..

yeah, just getting them loaded.. sad i know.

ok.. skip forward to Christmas now!

one of our Christmas traditions is to go to the

Fantasy of Lights display at Midwestern State Univ..

it's got everything you could imagine,

from scrooge displays, to peter pan,

even the old woman who lived in a shoe!

you know, the one who had sooo many kids

she didnt know what to do? yup, thats her.

once that was all done, the next night

was Christmas Eve.. and who doesn't

love random Christmas tree pictures!?

anyways, i'm tired.. it's almost midnight.

this blog is totally random, probably pointless..

but after this crazy weekend,

and i spent a long day at work..

my mind is on stand still.

the old megan will be back soon.

but anyway.....

so i've been kinda M.I.A. this past month.
and everyday when i get off from work,
i tell myself i'm going to blog.. and it never happens.

this is just a blog to kind of recap the last month,
fill you in on what all i've been doing.. and not doing.

for 9 hours of the day, i'm here.

whether it is dressing up for the halloween costume contest,

stuffing my face full of junk,

or taking random blurry pictures in the bathroom to show off my ID badge..

it's fun, and i'm happy.

i couldn't ask for a better group of people to work with.

halloween has come and passed, i'm sad.

i didn't blog all the wonderful things i found,

but thats ok.. i'll survive.. barely anyway ;).

we dressed up and trick or treated from 6pm-9ishpm.

the kids were pooped, but we made out with loads of candy.

so much, were still eating it.

leiton was super girl..

i tried talking her out of it

and into a cute kitty cat

or a pretty princess..

but no.

she was determined to be super.

and super she was.

bray, well he wanted to be a soldier.

so he could hurt people with his "shoot gun"..

he carried it around all night,

and we were told multiple times

what a perfect combo there were.

both destined to protect.

then always, the 2nd week of November

we have "Hanger Holliday" at our local AFB..

(formally known as "Christmas on the Hanger")

and after spending 3 hours of looking at overly priced junk,

we got our picture taken with sergeant santa..

how do i know his name?

because my daughter..

who did NOT believe he was the real santa..

asked him.. yep, point blank.

excuse the hubs in the picture..

little man was having NO part in this.

but yeah.. thats been my last month practically.

OH yeah one more thing..

we moved.

i've got a blog about that to come.

with some pictures of the new place.

and a birthday blog, since my once tiny girl,

will be 4 on tuesday.

sad, yet super exciting!

looking forward to spring when she starts soccer!

but yeah... i'll be seeing y'all very soon.

today is my 22nd birthday.

like for real, i can not believe it!

where have these 22 years gone to?!

soo in honor of it being my birthday,

i've decided to do this whole..

"22 things i didn't think i'd be doing at 22"

i saw this idea somewhere awhile back,

and thought it would be fun :)

here goes nothing!

i never though i'd..

1. be happy to see Cailou was on t.v.
2. get more excited going to Toy's R Us to pick out baby dolls and airplanes then shopping for clothes.
3. be excited to see someone poop in the potty.
4. see the military in my future.. neaaaar future.
5. be super organized and set to a schedule.
6. be excited when the new tinkerbell movie comes out.
7. play baby dolls again.
8. dance like a crazy person and sing silly songs just to make an ouchy stop hurting.
9. think 2 little people, who came from me, could be soo beautiful.
10. have more child shows recorded onto my DVR then adult ones {not adult adult.. sheesh!}.
11. take longer getting my kids ready over me.
12. enjoy a 9 o'clock bedtime!
13. not be bothered by poopy diapers and vomit.
14. have 2 gorgeous little people.
15. know every word to the phineas and ferb theme song.
16. be making hairbows to make some extra cash.
17. get super, crazy excited to go see Santa at the mall.
18. be excited to buy a new box of crayons to color in the princess books.
19. have a craft blog.. or blog period, cause the cool kids don't do that.
20. worry about what kind of food goes into a little persons body.
21. be happily married to the guy i dated all through out high school!
22. enjoy going to the park to play versus out to party.

there you have it!
22 things i never thought i'd be doing at 22.

you see how much little people take up your life?
honestly, i would not change a thing.. even at 22.

well i finally got the call i'd been waiting for..
it made it the real deal and not just a maybe deal.
i start working at AT&T monday!

yeah, may not seem huge to you,
but i'm super excited and it's not where you buy phones,
it's the actual AT&T building.

it's just answering phones and that kinda thing,
but for the pay, you can't beat it.

but i start this monday,
the day before my birthday!
an awesome birthday present :)

M.I.A. much?

i've been kinda M.I.A. lately.
but whats new now-a-days?

so to make a long story short,
all last week,
i mean aaaall last week,
i was making shirts,

making hairbows,

all for this craft thing i did.

i will admit,

i sold almost all of it.

minus a bunch of bows..

there was a fierce competition between all us bow makers.

ok just kidding.. there was no competition.

or atleast that they knew of ;).

that was saturday..
then all saturday night and all sunday,
miss thang here was super sick..

after an ER visit sunday night

and 4 different prescriptions,

she was better in no time..

(she ended up having bronchitis)

but then this little dude decided it was his turn..

and we battled the nasty mess a second time.

and so thats where i've been.

i missed y'all.

tomorrow, i'm thinking of grabbing the camera

and taking the little people to get fall photos.

maybe? who knows.

have you ever seen this stuff!?

i hadn't until the other day while grocery shopping.

it was in our refrigerated section, beside the eggs.

i was actually really skeptical about it when i got it,

but i was excited to try it and couldn't wait until morning..

soooo.. we made pancakes for dinner!

my first squirt in the pan was like the man walking on the moon for the first time..

aaammmaaazziiinnngg!

then once the hubby saw what it was like,

i couldn't get the can back from him.

yup.. he stole it!

it was seriously that much fun.

and it tasted really good too.

after a quick fight to get the can back,

and some playing around with it somemore,

we got creative and made some shapes..

brayman got the star.

leiton got the heart.

are you ready for some batter blastin' fun!?

it is fun.. and if your kids are a tad older then mine.. like 5 and up..

they could really enjoy this too and might help those picky eaters out there!

mine aren't picky, so i'm just guessin' here haha.

also, it being organic helped me make the decision to buy it.

we eat as much organic as we can, and so anything new is a plus!
